The Town of Bolivar invites you to join a group of parade enthusiasts to explore the art of one-of-a-kind lanterns from paper and reed. You will also learn about the histories of paper lantern making, contemporary lantern artists, and communities sustaining these traditions. The workshop concludes with an exploration of professional performance.

In this hands-on workshop, you will build a lantern in small groups of two or three people for Bolivar’s new community arts project, the Bolivar Lantern Festival, which will be held on November 4, 2023. Join us for the fun!
